Which climb should you choose?
- Best value: the Night Summit climb — the city lights are spectacular and it’s the cheapest.
- Best photos: Twilight, when you see Sydney in daylight, at sunset and at night in one climb.
- Most complete: the Ultimate, which crosses the full length of the bridge.
- Most meaningful: Burrawa, with First Nations stories of the harbour.
What to expect on the BridgeClimb
- Briefing and gear: you wear a climb suit and are clipped to a safety line the whole time.
- No phones or cameras: loose items aren’t allowed on the bridge; your guide takes photos, which you can buy afterwards.
- Fitness: it’s a walk with many steps (1,332 on the Summit), not a technical climb.
- Children: ages 8–15 and over 1.2 m, accompanied by an adult; a maximum of three children per adult (source).
- Weather: climbs go ahead in light rain; you’ll get rain gear.
Cheaper alternatives
- Walk across the bridge for free on the eastern footpath, from The Rocks to Milsons Point — great views of the Opera House.
- Pylon Lookout: a small museum and lookout inside the south-east pylon, for a fraction of the climb price.
- Take the Manly ferry for harbour views of both icons.
How to get there
BridgeClimb starts in The Rocks, a short walk from Circular Quay. Combine it with a Sydney Opera House tour and dinner in The Rocks — Day 1 of our Sydney itinerary.
Is the BridgeClimb worth it?
If it fits your budget, yes — the views and the feeling of standing on top of the arch are unique. If not, the free bridge walk and the Pylon Lookout give you great views for much less. Don’t forget travel insurance for Australia.
