Updated October 27, 2026 · 3 min read
Quick answer: Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s capital, is calmer and more cultural than Dubai: the white marble Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (AED 10 entry for tourists since September 2026), the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the presidential palace Qasr Al Watan, and the theme parks of Yas Island. Since autumn 2026 the new Etihad Rail train links Dubai and Abu Dhabi in about an hour from AED 39. Visit between November and March; summer regularly passes 45°C.

Plan 2–3 days, or a long day trip from Dubai. Abu Dhabi is spread out, so you’ll use taxis or ride-hailing apps a lot.
