Updated October 25, 2026 · 7 min read
Quick answer: the easiest public-transport option from Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to Paris is the RER B train: €14, about 35–50 minutes to Gare du Nord, Châtelet and Saint-Michel. A taxi has a fixed fare: €56 to the Right Bank or €65 to the Left Bank. The Roissybus no longer runs (since 1 March 2026), and the new CDG Express train is due to open on 28 March 2027.

Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG, also called Roissy) is about 25 km north-east of central Paris. Getting into the city is easy, but a few things changed recently — the Roissybus has been discontinued, airport train tickets now have a single price, and paper tickets are being phased out — so many older guides are out of date.

This guide compares every way to get from CDG to Paris in 2026 — RER B train, taxi, Uber, buses, night buses and private transfers — with official prices, journey times, how to buy your ticket, the best route to the Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse and Disneyland, plus how to get from Orly and Beauvais. Information comes from the official Paris tourism website (updated September 2026) and recent guides such as Paris by Train and PVTistes.

CDG to Paris by train: RER B

The RER B is the fastest public transport from CDG to Paris city centre. It leaves from Terminal 1 (via the CDGVAL shuttle) and Terminal 2 (station between 2C/2D and 2E/2F), with a train every 10–20 minutes until about 11:50 pm (source).

RER B stations in Paris

  • Gare du Nord (about 25–35 minutes) — Eurostar, metro lines 4 and 5.
  • Châtelet – Les Halles — the city’s main interchange (metro 1, 4, 7, 11, 14, RER A for Disneyland).
  • Saint-Michel – Notre-Dame — Latin Quarter, Notre-Dame, RER C to the Eiffel Tower.
  • Luxembourg, Port-Royal, Denfert-Rochereau — Left Bank and the Catacombs.

CDG train ticket: price and how to buy

  • Price: €14 one way for adults, €7 for children aged 4–9, free under 4 (source).
  • What it covers: the RER B to or from CDG plus connections on the metro, RER and some trains in zones 1–5 for up to 2 hours (source).
  • How to buy: load it onto a Navigo Easy card (€2, from ticket machines and offices at the airport), the Île-de-France Mobilités app or Apple Wallet. There’s no paper version anymore, and each traveller needs their own card or phone (source).

Watch out: RER B trains can be crowded at rush hour, some stations have lots of stairs, and works can disrupt late-evening services. Keep an eye on your bags — and if you have heavy luggage, the taxi’s fixed fare can be worth it.

CDG to Paris by taxi: fixed fares

Official Paris taxis charge a fixed fare between CDG and Paris (source):

  • €56 to/from the Right Bank (north of the Seine: Marais, Opéra, Champs-Élysées, Montmartre, Louvre).
  • €65 to/from the Left Bank (south of the Seine: Saint-Germain, Latin Quarter, Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse).
  • Small supplements apply for advance bookings and from the fifth passenger. Journey time: about 45–60 minutes.

Only take official taxis from the signposted taxi ranks outside arrivals, and refuse offers from people approaching you inside the terminal. The fixed fare covers up to four passengers, so for a family it can cost about the same as four train tickets.

Uber, VTC and private transfers

Uber and other ride-hailing (VTC) apps work at CDG, but prices change with demand — sometimes cheaper than a taxi, sometimes much more. A pre-booked private transfer costs around €120–140 and includes a driver waiting with your name (source), useful for groups and late arrivals. Compare CDG airport transfers.

CDG to Paris by bus (budget)

The famous Roissybus to Opéra was permanently discontinued on 1 March 2026 (source). Budget alternatives:

  • Bus 9517 (express) to Saint-Denis Pleyel in about 30 minutes for €2.05, then metro line 14 into central Paris in about 10 minutes.
  • Bus 350 to Porte de la Chapelle and bus 351 to Nation, €2.05 each, 60–90 minutes.

Night buses

After the last RER, the Noctilien N143 runs every 30 minutes to Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord (55–65 minutes), and the N140 hourly to Gare de l’Est (source). A taxi is more comfortable at night.

Orly Airport to Paris

  • Metro line 14: a direct automatic metro from Orly into central Paris (Châtelet, Saint-Lazare). It requires the special airport ticket — check the price at the machine; most 2026 guides list the €14 airport fare (source).
  • Tram T7 + metro 7: the cheapest option at about €4.60, but slower (source).
  • Taxi (fixed fare): €36 to the Left Bank, €45 to the Right Bank (source).
  • The Orlybus no longer runs (since March 2025).

Beauvais Airport to Paris

Beauvais (used by some low-cost airlines) is about 85 km north of Paris. The usual option is the airport shuttle coach to Porte Maillot — allow at least 75–90 minutes and check the current fare on the airport’s website. A taxi is very expensive from Beauvais.
