Quick answer: most tourists visiting Bali get an e-VOA (electronic visa on arrival) for IDR 500,000 (about US$35), valid for 30 days and extendable once for another 30 days. Apply on the official site molina.imigrasi.go.id at least 48 hours before you fly. You also need the free All Indonesia e-Arrival Card (within 72 hours of arrival), a passport valid for 6 months with 2 blank pages, and the separate Bali tourist levy (IDR 150,000).

Indonesia has digitised its entry process: visa, customs and arrival forms are now online. Getting them right before you fly means a quick exit from Bali’s busy airport. This guide covers the 2026 rules. Details from OrbitRemit’s Indonesia guide (August 2026); always check the official immigration site for your nationality.

e-VOA: how it works

  • Price: IDR 500,000, the same as a visa on arrival bought at the airport.
  • Stay: 30 days, single entry.
  • Extension: once, for another 30 days (60 days in total), at an immigration office.
  • Eligibility: available to citizens of many countries; check the list on the official site. Some nationalities enter visa-free; others need a visa in advance.
  • Purpose: tourism, family visits and short business meetings — not work.

How to apply

  1. Go to the official portal, molina.imigrasi.go.id. Unofficial sites charge much more for the same visa.
  2. Create an account and choose the Visa on Arrival (e-VOA) for tourism.
  3. Upload a photo of your passport and a selfie, and enter your travel details.
  4. Pay IDR 500,000 by card.
  5. Download the e-VOA and keep it on your phone. Apply at least 48 hours before your flight.

Arriving without an e-VOA? Eligible travellers can still buy a visa on arrival at the airport, but queues are longer.

All Indonesia e-Arrival Card

Since late 2025, a single free online form replaces the old customs, immigration and health declarations. Fill it in within 72 hours before arrival; it generates a QR code to show at immigration and customs.

Arrival tips

  1. Keep all QR codes (e-VOA, arrival card, levy) in one folder on your phone.
  2. Many travellers can use the automatic gates at Bali airport after their first entry; follow staff instructions.
  3. Overstaying is fined per day — check your departure date carefully.
  4. Book your transfer in advance — see Bali airport transfers.
  5. Buy travel insurance before you go — compare Indonesia travel insurance.
