Bali Airport Transfers 2026: Prices & Times to Ubud, Seminyak, Canggu & Uluwatu

Bali airport (DPS) transfers in 2026: private car prices and travel times to Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Uluwatu, Nusa Dua and Ubud, plus Grab, Gojek and taxi tips.

Updated October 26, 2026 · 3 min read
Quick answer: Bali’s airport (Ngurah Rai, DPS) is in the south, near Kuta. A private car costs about US$30 to Kuta, US$37 to Seminyak or Nusa Dua, and US$40 to Canggu, Uluwatu or Ubud. Grab and Gojek cars are often cheaper but surge at busy times. Allow 1.5–3 hours to Ubud and add 45 minutes between 15:00 and 19:00. There’s no train and very little public transport.

Bali’s roads are narrow and busy, so the transfer from the airport can take longer than the flight from Australia. This guide compares the options and travel times with 2026 figures from Bali Holiday Secrets.

Transfer times and prices (2026)

To / from Car time Private car (approx.)
Kuta 15–45 min About US$30
Nusa Dua 25–45 min About US$37
Seminyak 45–90 min About US$37
Uluwatu 1–1.5 h About US$40
Canggu 1–2.5 h About US$40
Ubud 1.5–3 h About US$40

Extras sometimes added: toll road (about IDR 14,000), airport parking (about IDR 12,000) and a night surcharge (about IDR 50,000, 22:00–6:00).

Options compared

Pre-booked private driver (easiest)

A driver meets you in arrivals with your name and a fixed price, whatever the traffic. Confirm the booking the day before. Hotels also arrange pickups, often with a 20–30% markup. Compare Bali airport transfers.

Grab and Gojek

Ride-hailing cars can pick you up at the airport and are often the cheapest option, but prices surge at busy times — a Canggu trip can double. Compare both apps. Motorbike rides (GrabBike/GoRide) must use the motorbike parking building, about 500 m from the terminal.

Taxis

Use official metered taxis such as Bluebird, ideally booked through the Bluebird app. Beware of imitation “blue” taxis claiming the meter is broken and quoting a high fixed price.

Getting around Bali

  • Private driver for the day: the most popular way to do day trips (temples, rice terraces, waterfalls).
  • Grab / Gojek: cheap for short rides in the south and Ubud; some local areas restrict pickups.
  • Scooter: only with a valid licence (international permit with motorcycle category) and insurance — see driving abroad mistakes.
  • Fast boats: from Sanur to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan.

Tips

  1. Avoid arriving or leaving between 15:00 and 19:00 if you can.
  2. Get your QR codes ready (e-VOA, arrival card, levy) — see Bali entry.
  3. Have an eSIM working on landing to order rides — compare Indonesia eSIMs.
  4. For your first night after a long flight, consider staying near the airport (Kuta, Jimbaran) or Seminyak.
  5. Allow at least 3 hours before departure; traffic and security can be slow.
