Longtail boats on a beach in southern Thailand

Phuket Itinerary: 4, 5 or 7 Days (2026 Day-by-Day Plan)

A day-by-day Phuket itinerary for 4 to 7 days: Phi Phi, Phang Nga Bay, the Old Town, the Big Buddha and the best beaches.

Updated October 26, 2026 · 3 min read
Quick answer: Day 1: settle into the beach, with sunset at Promthep Cape. Day 2: a Phi Phi Islands speedboat trip. Day 3: the Big Buddha, Wat Chalong, then the Old Town and the Sunday Walking Street if it’s Sunday. Day 4: Phang Nga Bay. Day 5: a beach day at Kata Noi or Freedom Beach, then a night on Bangla Road. With a week, add the Similan Islands (in season) and a cooking class.

Phuket is best enjoyed slowly. This plan alternates big boat days with beach and culture days, so you don’t burn out. Boat trips depend on the weather, so keep them flexible.

FAQ: Phuket itinerary

Is 3 days enough in Phuket?

It’s enough for one boat trip, one culture day and a beach day, but 5–7 days is far more relaxing.

Should I do Phi Phi or Phang Nga Bay?

Phi Phi for beaches and snorkelling, and Phang Nga Bay for dramatic limestone scenery and calm-water kayaking. With 4+ days, do both.

How do I combine Phuket with other Thai destinations?

Fly from Phuket to Bangkok or Chiang Mai, or take a ferry to Krabi or Koh Phi Phi to island-hop the Andaman coast.
